Produce Safety Alliance Grower Food Safety Course:Produce growers and packers subject to the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Produce Safety Rule will need to comply with the requirement outlined in § 112.22(c) that states ‘At least one supervisor or responsible party for your farm must have successfully completed food safety training at least equivalent to that received under standardized curriculum recognized as adequate by the Food and Drug Administration.’
Join PSA Trainers at Cornell Cooperative Extension Oneida County, 121 Second Street, Oriskany, NY on November 20th and 21st, for a one and half day training course. Session on day one begins at 8am and ends at 5:15. Session on day two begins at 8:30am and ends at 3pm.
PSA Trainers will spend approximately seven hours of instruction time covering content contained in the area of worker health, hygiene, soil amendments, wildlife, agricultural water, postharvest handling and sanitation, along with how to develop a Farm Food Safety Plan.
Each participating farm at the course will receive a manual. This manual includes curriculum module slides and slide notes divided by tabs with learning objectives for each module. Additionally, references, a glossary, and FSMA-specific information are included.
Registrations will be accepted until Nov 18th athttps://reg.cce.cornell.edu/PSATraining_230at a cost of $75 single or $100 for two from the same farm for both days. This includes manual and lunch for both days.
