Special interest programs are designed for a specific learning experience of six hour or more that involves direct teaching by Extension staff or trained volunteers. These programs are not part of the school curriculum and are not restricted to members of 4-H clubs.
We partner with CCE of Herkimer County to offer tractor safety classes for youth aged 14-15. The training involves 24 hours of classroom and hands-on instruction, followed by a written test and a tractor driving test.
The Veterinary & Animal Science Exploration program encourages youth’s interest in animals while building life-long skills of communication, team work, responsibility, and decision making.
4-H Teen Council members meet monthly to plan and implement the teen exchange, fund raising, and other fun and educational opportunities such as the Teen Press Corps.
This 2-day 4-H Vet Science Series on February 19 & 20 is for 9-12th graders. Cost is $15 for 4-H members, and $20 for non-members. Call to register!
