Position Summary:
Oversees the successful implementation of a NYS licensed Afterschool Program. Program Manager will work with school district to provide social and emotional programming to at-risk youth during the school day, manage all aspects of the after school program, and support school staff to meet the needs of their students.

Position Duties:

  • Ensure SACC licenses and regulations are implemented and followed daily (when license is required for the program)
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with school staff and administration
  • Oversees hiring of program staff and responsible for daily supervision of program staff
  • Ensure safety and security procedures as they relate to SACC licenses, agency protocol, school building, and district
  • Monitor budgets and works with the Director of Operations regarding budgets for the program
  • Responsible for monthly quarterly, and annual reports
  • Responsible for the overall accountability of the after school program, students and staff
  • Work with the school administration and personnel to ensure effective, quality, appropriate and safe programs for students
  • Assist school administration and teachers to identify appropriate student referrals to agency services, including but not limited to the after school program
  • Collect data needed to meet the objectives and goals of the programs and agency
  • Create and maintain a knowledge base of community-based services for children and families
  • Be available to principals and school staff for consultation and support regarding students and families
  • Participate in required trainings by the agency and SACC license requirements
  • Ensure all program staff, volunteers, and any other person involved in the program receives required trainings by the agency and SACC license
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree including, or in addition to, 12 credits in Early Childhood, Child Development or related field. Transcript will be required at time of hire
  • Experience in after school programs
  • Knowledge of safety and security procedures as they relate to child care programs
  • Knowledge of child abuse and maltreatment identification, prevention, and statutes
  • Knowledge of statutes and regulations pertaining to child day care
  • Three - five years’ experience in health, education, substance abuse, juvenile justice, or other related children and family services
  • Knowledge of school districts and children services
  • Knowledge of community based agencies that service children and families
  • Past experience with training/facilitating groups (adults and children) preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Management experience preferred
