Dairy Farm Employee Training: Prepping for F.A.R.M. V4.0

  • Wednesday, September 11, 2019, 12:00 PM - 2:30 PM

The National F.A.R.M. Program, (Farmers Assuring Responsible Management), has undergone a review of the animal care standards and in early 2020 the F.A.R.M. Program Version 4.0 will be released. The revisions are leaning heavily on the requirement for annual training of individuals with animal responsibilities, along with proof of written standard operating procedures for animal care topics.

If you are a dairy farm owner or employee, you are encouraged to attend a one-day training scheduled for Wednesday September 11, 2019 from 12:00pm until 2:30pm at the C.C.E. of Oneida County office located at 121 Second St. in Oriskany.

Dr. Robert Lynch, D.V.M., Dairy Herd Health and Management Specialist with Pro Dairy will lead the training and information session. Training topics during this program will focus on the proper handling of non-ambulatory cows and developing acceptable procedures for non-ambulatory cows, as well as acceptable end of life planning methods and procedures.

The cost to attend is $10/person and includes lunch. Please register by calling 315-736-3394 ext. 132 by Friday September 6. Registrations allow us to contact you in the event of changes or cancellations.
