This fall, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oneida County in partnership with Mohawk Valley Community College (MVCC) at the Rome Campus will kick-off a 5-part workshop series: From Recipe to Market. Farmers and local aspiring food entrepreneurs will be able to take advantage in accelerating their food-based business concept working in professional kitchens with sessions led by experts across the field.

Attendees will develop their recipe, learn about processing and be able to prepare and package their products safely. Participants will also gain knowledge of both potential profits and product distribution avenues while starting to build a marketable business plan.

The workshop series consists of five consecutive Wednesday evenings (October 2, October 9th, October 16th, October 23rd and October 30th). Additionally, a capstone pitch session will be held on Friday, November 1st. Here participants will gain constructive feedback while having an opportunity to test their ideas in front of peers and stakeholders.

From Recipe to Market is open for registration This program is for individuals seriously interested in operating a value-added business. Participants must have a specific food product or recipe in mind and are expected to attend all 5 sessions. Cost of the entire program for a single payer is $75.00 or for a team of two, $125.00. Workbook will be included.
