The AED Program was created in 1998 in accordance with the Oneida County Farmland protection Plan (OCFPP) and officially registered with the NYS Department of Agriculture & Markets in 2000. The mission of AED is to help foster an economic climate that supports and promotes the expansion of agricultural business within Oneida County.

Working with the Mohawk Valley EDGE, Cities of Utica and Rome to conduct outreach visits to regional agribusinesses to help ensure agricultural industry viability and create employment opportunities.
Working with the Oneida County Farmland Protection Board to reach out to town and county governments to become more aware and sensitive to agriculture industry issues.
Educating today’s younger children of the many rewarding employment opportunities that the world of Agriculture offers.
