*For Enrolled Oneida County 4-H Members ONLY*
NYS 4-H Policy is that all youth riding or driving in county sponsored events and activities must be evaluated on their riding ability. Any 4-H member who is planning on participating in the County 4-H Horse Show at the Boonville/Oneida County Fair and falls into either of the following categories needs to be evaluated:
* Any new 4-H member or Cloverbud
* 4-H member moving up a riding level (Walk/Trot to Walk/Trot/Canter, Not an Age Level Ex. Junior to Senior Division)
* Any 4-H member using a different horse/pony than previously evaluated on
* The riding levels are leadline, Walk/Trot or Walk/Jog, Walk/Trot/Canter or Walk/Jog/Lope
* Other evaluation levels include Driving and Ground Skills.
If evaluations are unable to be completed at the 4-H Schooling Show alternate arrangements will be made. If evaluations are done at the horse's home barn/location the evaluation will finalized at the County Fair 4-H Horse Shows. This pending status is due to need to show that horse and rider are a safe pair in a show setting away from familiar surroundings.
Evaluations will be performed by 3 individuals not including the child's parent/guardian or riding instructor.
