Eat Well Play Hard in Child Care Settings (EWPHCCS)

EWPHCCS is a hands-on nutrition and physical activity program for preschoolers and their families. Funded by the USDA’s SNAP-Ed initiative, the program promotes healthy habits through fun lessons, skill-building activities, and positive role modeling in child care settings.

Designed for families with children ages 3–5 who are eligible for SNAP and enrolled in centers participating in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), the program:

  • Encourages healthy eating and active play
  • Involves child care staff in classroom-based lessons
  • Builds a supportive environment that reinforces healthy behaviors
