Classes & Trainings

The Child Care Council regularly hosts professional development workshops throughout our tri-county service area to assist early childhood educators in meeting their New York State training requirements. 

We can also develop specific training to meet your program needs.

Trainings Offered By Our Office:

  • 15-hour Health & Safety Training
  • Business Training Infant-Toddler through school-age training/program assistance
  • Program Development Training
  • Nutrition and Physical Activity Training

Rockefeller College Professional Development Program - University at Albany

The Professional Development Program at the University at Albany is the entry point for many OCFS-funded training opportunities.

Here are some of the opportunities offered:

American Red Cross

The American Red Cross offers child care courses that can help provide you with a base of knowledge that allows you to responsibly care for children and infants inside and outside the home. The company does not license facilities, nor is their certification intended to meet state child care licensing requirements.


NYS Office of Children and Family Services sets child care regulations and licenses child care programs in New York State.

Please Note: If you are seeking training credit towards OCFS required training hours or EIP funding for a distance learning course, it is your responsibility to ensure that it is an approved course.
